A financial services vendor management firm is looking to hire a VP of Travel to join their team in NYC. Please see details:
Role: VP of Travel
Compensation: $175,000 to $200,000 plus bonus
Work Model: 4 days in office in Manhattan, remote on Friday
As VP of Travel, you will act as the GM of a travel business line, owning full P&L responsibility, strategy, and execution. This is a hands-on operating role where you'll manage day-to-day operations while building the technology and automation needed to scale.
You'll oversee product development, client relationships, vendor strategy, team leadership, and revenue growth across a client base of leading investment firms.
Strategy & P&L Ownership
- Own revenue, margins, and growth targets with direct CEO accountability
- Define product strategy, pricing, differentiation, and automation roadmap
- Identify new revenue opportunities and lead go-to-market efforts
- Transition operations from manual to tech-enabled delivery
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of corporate travel programs
- Build and optimize processes, service standards, and performance metrics
Team Leadership & Growth
- Lead and develop a small team; foster a high-performance culture
- Support sales efforts and articulate the value proposition to prospects
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders (e.g., CFOs, COOs)
You'll inherit a small team and leverage shared internal resources (engineering, client success, and operations). You'll initially act as product manager-defining requirements and working closely with engineering-then hire a dedicated PM as the business scales. External operating advisors and domain experts are also available to support growth.
- 4-8 years in consulting, private equity operations, strategy, or high-growth roles (MBA preferred)
- Strong ownership mindset with P&L accountability
- Credible with senior stakeholders; strong communicator
- Builder mentality-comfortable with ambiguity and execution-heavy work
- Passion for automation and leveraging technology to scale operations
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
This role offers real ownership from day one: direct CEO exposure, autonomy, and the opportunity to build and scale a tech-enabled business line. It provides early, hands-on operating experience typically gained much later in a career.
