This role provides enterprise leadership for all non‑labor contracting, supplier relationships, and capital equipment services, owning vision, strategy, execution, and business growth. The position oversees a comprehensive capital asset management approach, delivers significant year‑over‑year value, and leads large‑scale transformation of medical equipment management across the organization.

The leader manages corporate and divisional teams and holds ultimate accountability for contract performance across more than $14B in operational spend, ensuring value, compliance, and operational excellence

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise contracting strategies and capital equipment service offerings
  • Own the negotiation and execution of complex, high‑value contracts, ensuring optimal commercial and operational outcomes
  • Build and manage executive‑level supplier relationships, driving performance and accountability
  • Partner with C‑suite executives, clinical leaders, and supply chain operators to align strategy and execution
  • Deliver against annual objectives, including savings, category expansion, and operational productivity
  • Set strategic direction for the contract portfolio and influence senior leadership decision‑making
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgets, revenue, and member/customer relationships
  • Lead team integration, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness
  • Design and execute critical service line offerings across HCA and HealthTrust members
  • Maximize value across the full capital equipment lifecycle-planning, acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposition
  • Develop and implement processes, policies, and enabling technologies to support a best‑in‑class capital asset management program
  • Play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the HealthTrust Capital Equipment Services strategy and business plan
  • Lead internal and external communications related to Capital Equipment Services
  • Translate strategic vision into practical, value‑based, and scalable solutions
  • Establish systems and processes that optimize organizational resources and operational efficiency
  • Set clear goals that align team performance with enterprise objectives
  • Lead initiatives in a dynamic, fast‑paced, and highly matrixed environment
  • Navigate and resolve sensitive, confidential issues with members and suppliers through effective executive dialogue
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and the highest ethical standards
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, trust, collaboration, and innovation
  • Ensure contracting work plans and project timelines are effectively managed
  • Represent the organization at key industry events and remain current on market trends and opportunities
  • Leverage global sourcing resources for market intelligence and research
  • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams including sourcing, clinical, finance, legal, and operations
  • Evaluate supplier product pipelines and emerging technologies to identify member impact and growth opportunities
  • Travel up to 25%

Qualifications

  • 15 years of relevant professional experience
  • 10 years in strategic sourcing or contracting leadership
  • 8 years leading and developing teams
  • 7 years of healthcare or related industry experience; medical capital equipment experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working in or directly with hospital environments highly desirable
  • Healthcare system and/or GPO experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) preferred
