Position Summary
The Plant Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and control activities within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. The manager will lead the development and implementation of quality systems, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO and industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics; identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Manage internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory inspections.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the process.
- Oversee calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
- Train and mentor plant personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve processes, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably industrial machinery or heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, standards (ISO 9001), and regulatory compliance.
- Skills:
- Expertise in root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage audits and interact with customers and regulatory bodies effectively.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data-driven quality reporting.
