Overview
Our partner is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance & Reliability Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of critical manufacturing equipment within a continuous process environment. This role focuses on mechanical system analysis, maintenance strategy development, and equipment improvement initiatives to enhance safety, uptime, and asset life.
The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to design improvements, analyze failures, and implement preventive and predictive maintenance best practices. This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment meets rigorous safety, reliability, and operational standards.
- Support full lifecycle equipment reliability and maintenance activities, from installation through sustainment and upgrade.
- Analyze mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and condition‑based maintenance programs (e.g., lubrication, vibration analysis, thermography).
- Lead or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts for equipment and process failures; maintain reliability data and equipment history.
- Utilize CMMS systems to ensure accurate asset data, work history, and maintenance planning.
- Develop and update mechanical drawings, procedures, and technical documentation to support maintenance execution.
- Contribute to equipment design modifications and capital improvement projects to improve safety, reliability, and productivity.
- Participate in maintenance budgeting and asset investment justification using performance and reliability data.
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities through extended asset life, reduced downtime, and improved maintenance practices.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, and external consultants to implement solutions.
- Ensure engineering and maintenance practices comply with applicable safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Support equipment inspections, risk mitigation activities, and system reliability audits.
- Maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and support material management accuracy within the CMMS.
- Stay current with maintenance and reliability best practices through professional development and industry resources.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent mechanical experience).
- 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance engineering, or reliability roles within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation controls.
- Demonstrated experience with preventive, predictive, and reliability‑centered maintenance programs.
- Experience conducting failure analysis and supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, RCA).
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems; SAP experience preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with engineering analysis and data tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, MATLAB, Python).
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD tools and equipment documentation (AutoCAD, Creo, or similar).
- Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS or similar) preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
- Collaborative mindset with strong planning, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
- Willingness to work extended hours and occasional weekends as required.
- Travel up to 10%.
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
