Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing strategy for bakery and food ingredient categories such as sugars, sweeteners, dairy, flour, cocoa, fats & oils, and other raw materials.
- Act as the category expert, driving insights, supplier relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop category budgets, set annual savings goals, and execute cost‑reduction strategies.
- Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, quality, and supply assurance.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier capabilities to inform strategy.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, operations, finance, and quality to support new product initiatives and operational requirements.
- Utilize SAP/ERP tools (bonus) to manage data, contracts, and supplier information.
- Optional (but valued): contribute to emerging hedging strategy development as equity partners expand risk‑management activities.
- 4 years of sourcing experience within food or bakery commodities (sugars, dairy, fats/oils, flour, cocoa, etc.).
- 5-7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or raw materials management.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of cost‑savings initiatives.
- Experience in budget development, financial planning, and setting savings targets.
- Ability to operate as the subject‑matter expert in assigned ingredient categories.
- Experience with market trend analysis, commodity forecasting, or risk‑management practices.
- Exposure to or interest in commodity hedging (not currently required, but directionally important).
- SAP or advanced ERP system experience.
Salary : $90,000 - $135,000
