Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a complex automated accounting system to track expenditures and financial information for the ARPA FRF Office.
- Research, analyze, and exercise independent judgment in daily and non-routine accounting decisions.
- Approve online purchase requisitions and perform general office duties (faxing, scanning, filing, attending meetings).
- Complete quarterly U.S. Treasury reports and review 164 packets.
- Review expenditures to ensure compliance with ARPA Grant Requirements and allowability standards.
- Provide technical accounting advice and support to program staff for complex problems or special projects.
- Handle difficult accounting activities and perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field; and 2 years of progressively responsible accounting experience involving financial policy analysis and information systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Navajo Nation, federal, and state laws governing tribal accounting operations
- Knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting, and budgeting principles
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of business practices related to financial record maintenance
- Proficiency with computerized accounting systems and general software applications
- Skill in preparing detailed and complex numerical computations and financial reports
- Skill in developing and monitoring multi-fund budgets using automated systems
- Skill in analyzing financial systems, procedures, and internal controls
- Ability to communicate complex technical accounting concepts clearly, both orally and in writing
