Under immediate supervision, performs skilled work of a routine nature involving the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, facilities, and grounds within the youth complex. Performs related duties as assigned.

Under immediate supervision, performs skilled work of a routine nature involving the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, facilities, and grounds within the youth complex. Performs related duties as assigned.
- Performs general building maintenance and repair, including carpentry, electrical, masonry, fencing, roofing, window repair, welding, minor plumbing and water works, landscaping, painting, and custodial services.
- Ensures all electrical lines, systems, and equipment are in safe working order.
- Performs daily custodial duties to maintain clean interior and exterior facilities, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming/steam cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, window cleaning, graffiti removal, and upkeep of building rooms.
- Ensures cleaning supplies, sporting equipment, tools, and materials are cleaned, properly stored, organized, and inventoried.
- Inspects interior and exterior facilities to identify deficiencies and submits requests for materials and repairs as needed.
- Maintains updated blueprints and diagrams for water, electrical, sewer lines, buildings, and grounds.
- Ensures all facility-related agreements and documentation are current and on file, including insurance, MOAs/MOUs, and facility usage agreements.
- Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories of supplies, equipment, and tools; performs routine facility inspections; and ensures facility and equipment security.
- Completes maintenance work in compliance with prescribed safety standards and supervisor instructions.
- Prepares facilities for planned projects and events, ensuring buildings are opened, set up, cleaned, secured, and equipment is operational before and after events.
- Monitors facility maintenance budgets and prepares financial documents for procurement of building supplies, construction materials, custodial supplies, tools, equipment, and office supplies.
- May assist with the facility maintenance budget planning process as needed.
- Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and special reports as required.
- May supervise assigned temporary employees and provide instruction on proper use of equipment and maintenance procedures.
- Submits time sheets and required documentation in a timely manner.
- Transports personnel, participants, supplies, and equipment to various work or program sites as required.
- Provides and administers basic first aid treatment in emergency situations.
- Performs physically demanding work requiring frequent standing, stooping, walking, sitting, climbing ladders and rooftops, operating power and hand tools, and lifting materials weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
- High school diploma or GED; and Two (2) years of experience in building construction or maintenance; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A favorable background investigation.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Knowledge of:
- Federal building maintenance, remodeling, and repair codes.
- Occupational safety and health practices and standards.
- Environmental protection practices and procedures.
- Grades and qualities of construction materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Basic trade codes related to electrical, plumbing, roofing, and general maintenance.
- Operation, maintenance, and use of power and hand tools and equipment.
- Reading and interpreting building blueprints, schematics, and facility designs.
- Following verbal and written instructions.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in elevated areas such as rooftops.
- Within ninety (90) days of hire, incumbent must obtain:
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Food Handler’s Permit.
