DPP is seeking an Aerospace Engineer III for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Work location: Onsite in Englewood, CO
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 Contract
Work authorization: US Citizen; must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
Position Summary:
- As an Aerospace Engineer III, you will lead complex engineering projects, providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers.
- You will play a critical role in the innovation and development of advanced aerospace systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of advanced aerospace components and systems.
- Conduct and oversee extensive analysis and testing.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Review and approve technical documentation and reports.
- Lead design reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- 6 years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degrees may substitute for experience.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using tools such as StarCCM .
- Experience developing aircraft aerodynamic databases.
- Experience with heat transfer analysis.
- Experience with aircraft component loads.
- Experience with aircraft performance analysis.
- Experience with wind tunnel and aircraft flight test.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
- Experience with aircraft static stability analysis.
- Experience with store separation or 6DOF analysis.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing and Linux platforms.
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
