Principal / Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer
Annapolis, MD | Onsite | Secret Clearance Required
Design hardware that goes where most engineers never get to work.
We are looking for a Principal or Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the development of advanced naval and undersea systems in Annapolis, MD.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking a problem from concept → design → manufacturing → testing → integration.
What You'll Do
- Develop mechanical concepts and solutions for complex undersea hardware
- Translate customer and system requirements into practical mechanical designs
- Design and integrate mechanical components and assemblies
- Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs can actually be built
- Develop engineering drawings, processes, procedures, and manufacturing documentation
- Apply GD&T and sound design-for-manufacturing principles
- Support prototype and low-to-medium volume production
- Participate in hardware testing, troubleshooting, and integration
- Solve difficult technical problems while balancing performance, schedule, cost, and manufacturability
- Work closely with other engineers, manufacturing, program teams, and customers
What We're Looking For
Principal:
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Ocean Engineering, or related STEM field 5 years of experience
- OR MS 3 years of experience
Senior Principal:
- BS 8 years of experience
- OR MS 6 years
- OR PhD 4 years
For either level:
- Strong mechanical hardware design experience
- Experience taking requirements and turning them into engineering solutions
- Understanding of manufacturing and production processes
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with common engineering design and analysis tools
- Active U.S. Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly
- Ability to work onsite in Annapolis, MD

- Experience designing hardware for demanding environments
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
