JOB REQUIREMENTS: The work of the Highway Fiscal Specialist involves
accurate data entry, recordkeeping, and related tasks. Most of the
assignments are recurring in nature, the employee is expected to
exercise a certain amount of judgment and resourcefulness in dealing
with unusual circumstances. The position requires accounting skills and
the ability to learn readily the procedures and regulations of the
office. The work is performed under the general supervision of the
Highway Accountant and Highway Commissioner. This position reports to
Douglas County Highway Department HQ, located in Hawthorne, WI. Standard
hours of operation: Snow Season (NovemberApril): MondayFriday, 7:30 AM
to 3:00 PM Summer Season (AprilNovember): MondayThursday, 6:30 AM to
4:00 PM \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school
diploma or equivalent, and two-year vocational/technical training in
bookkeeping/accounting required; two or more years of
accounting/bookkeeping/payroll experience preferred; or any combination
