Job Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing financial processes, and collaborating with other departments to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a staff accountant, providing guidance and support in daily tasks.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring proper invoicing and collections.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights to management.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures for efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
- Oversee Human Resources administrative processes.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Physical Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds (e.g., filing documents or carrying office supplies).
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
