What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Process Technician position at DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation?
Why This Role Exists
This role is designed for experienced maintenance technicians who want to move beyond reactive maintenance and into advanced troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement.
If you’re the technician people call when a problem won’t stay fixed, if you enjoy digging into root causes, controls logic, and design flaws—and if you’re ready to elevate your role without leaving the plant floor—this position was built for you.
This is not a routine maintenance role. It is a technical escalation and reliability role that sits at the intersection of Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations.
What You’ll Do
Equipment Reliability & Advanced Troubleshooting
- Act as the technical escalation point for chronic, complex equipment issues
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls-related failures
- Perform in-depth machine evaluations and properly route corrective actions through Maintenance WOs
- Track temporary fixes (“band-aids”) and drive them to permanent countermeasures
- Identify design-driven failure modes and initiate corrective actions
Engineering Support & Continuous Improvement
- Support new equipment installs, upgrades, and validations
- Design, fabricate, assemble, and test proof-of-concept solutions
- Contribute hands-on solutions to CARs, RCAs, and reliability investigations
- Analyze downtime, failure trends, and equipment performance data
- Participate in Kaizen and CI initiatives across slitting and packaging
Standards, Quality & Documentation
- Verify correct components, hardware, and installation methods
- Reject sub-standard work and push for proper resolution—not workarounds
- Enforce equipment and design standards; flag and correct deviations
- Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides and technical documentation
- Generate clear technical summaries of issues, findings, and actions
Fabrication, Design & Technical Support
- Fabricate and assemble mechanical or electro-mechanical components
- Create and update CAD drawings for equipment modifications
- Support ancillary equipment, parts tracking, and replacement planning
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams

- Experience with reliability, root cause, or continuous improvement methods
Equivalent experience is valued over formal education.
Who Thrives in This Role

- Individuals looking to expand influence, scope, and professional growth
Why This Is a Step Up
