Hybrid Schedule: 2 days remote per week
Job Summary:
DNA Partners is representing a respected law firm seeking a Counsel or Partner to join its Labor & Employment Practice in New York. This role is ideal for an experienced management-side labor attorney with deep traditional labor law expertise and a strong employment litigation background. The position offers significant client responsibility, leadership opportunities, and exposure to sophisticated labor and employment matters.
What You'll Do:
• Represent management clients in arbitrations, grievance proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations, mediations, and NLRB matters
• Advise employers on union organizing campaigns, union elections, and unfair labor practice charges
• Defend employers in employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims
• Counsel clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR-related issues
• Conduct workplace investigations and advise on employee relations matters
• Draft and negotiate collective bargaining agreements, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and separation agreements
• Advise clients on reductions in force, WARN Act compliance, and labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions
• Conduct client training sessions and webinars on labor and employment topics
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys within the practice group
What You Bring:
• J.D. and active New York Bar admission; New Jersey admission is a plus
• 10 years of management-side labor and employment experience in a law firm environment
• Significant traditional labor law experience, including collective bargaining, arbitrations, and NLRB proceedings
• Strong employment litigation experience in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies
• Experience advising employers on union-related matters and labor relations strategy
• Exceptional legal writing, negotiation, advocacy, and client counseling skills
• Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring junior attorneys
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters while delivering outstanding client service
