What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk position at DLD Environmental Services Inc?
Summary Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against manifests.
- Loads and unloads trucks
- Affixes bar code labels onto packed containers.
- Weighs and records container information.
- Examines incoming shipments, records shortages, and corresponds with manifest to reconcile deviations using a bar code scanner/computer.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from/to truck and to/from storage or work area.
