SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Inside Sales Representative position assists current and potential customers with technical issues. This position serves to maintain and grow current customer customers, as well as search out new potential customers. This position serves as a guide to customers for cost effective products and provides quality service assistance. This position is a highly visible and responsible role and is of great significance within the company with accountability to uphold the quality and standards of the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Actively search for new potential customers and markets to grow sales.
- Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
- Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
- Collaborates with Director of Sales to develop sales quotas and strategies.
- Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
- Assists customers from conceptualization to production of product on engineering, tooling, pricing and commercial issues.
- Assists customer to design more cost effective parts.
- Assists in sales calls from a technical standpoint.
- Provide quality service assistance with customer problems.
- Participates in APQP meetings and customer launch meetings either virtual or in person as required.
- Interacts with customers on a daily basis dealing with various issues to ensure customer service and satisfaction, as well as providing on site support when necessary.
- Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets.
- And, any additional duties that may be assigned by Management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Excellent ability communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite as well as inventory software.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of analytical and problem solving best practices.
- Ability to travel to customer locations and any other locations deemed necessary (i.e. trade shows, suppliers, etc.).
- Ability to negotiate with customers.
- Ability to exercise tact, courtesy and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers and customers.
- Ability to learn customer systems and/or participate in customer system training with ability to retain knowledge and train others.
- Ability to deal comfortably with all levels within the organization; ability to contribute in a cross functional collaborative environment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- BS Degree in business, management or other related discipline.
- At least 3-5 years progressive experience in sales within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license. Passport preferred.
