Dental Assistant

Overview

Join our dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. We are a small, privately owned office, working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
• Assisting with child dental cleaning, fillings, root canals, crowns, etc...
• Take X-rays of the teeth and jaws
• Take impressions of teeth for crowns and dentures
• Order dental supplies and manage inventory
• Knowledge of oral health principles, including brushing techniques and terminology
• Experience using dental instruments and equipment, including dental chairs and scalers
• Competence in educating patients about their dental health
• Ability to learn scheduling software and other dental practice technology, such as Open Dental
• Willing to train as necessary

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures is highly preferred.
• Proven proficiency with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures.
• Experience with pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
• Demonstrated ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety guidelines.
• Healthcare infection prevention and control expertise combined with aseptic technique skills are essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27.0 – 30.0 per week
