Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care in a friendly and professional environment. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the clinic operates smoothly while adhering to all safety and health regulations. Salary is DOE. Hours are Tuesday 9-5. Wednesday 9-5. Thursday 9:30-6. No Fridays
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while following infection control protocols.
- Take dental X-rays and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using our EMR system, Open Dental, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Monitor vital signs.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to enhance patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Knowledge of infection control practices.
- Ability to maintain medical records and understand medical documentation requirements.
- iTero 3D scanning is a plus, but not required.
- Must be responsible and reliable.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
