Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and sterilization procedures to ensure aseptic technique and infection prevention management
- Take and develop dental X-rays and adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and compliance with clinical confidentiality policies
- Perform chairside assisting duties including patient management, vital signs collection, medical documentation, and explaining procedures using appropriate dental terminology
- Maintain dental equipment and sterilization processes to uphold infection control standards and ensure operational readiness
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure in accordance with state regulations
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and clinical workflows
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft for accurate medical documentation and record keeping
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures
- Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, oral surgery techniques, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices
- Excellent verbal skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating empathy and professionalism
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and adhering to healthcare infection control standards
