Most tax jobs promise progression. This one comes with a succession plan.

Let's be honest, a lot of firms talk about Partner track...then 5 years later you're still waiting for someone above you to retire.

This isn't that.

A well respected South Florida CPA firm is looking for a technically strong Senior Tax Accountant who wants something bigger than another Manager title and another annual review discussing "future opportunities".

One of the firm's Partners plans to retire within the next 4 years.

The plan is already there.

The clients are already there.

The mentoring is already there.

Now they're looking for the person who wants to step into it.

You'll work directly alongside both Partners, gradually taking over client relationships, helping shape the future of the practice, and building towards becoming a Partner yourself. Not someday. Not maybe. Within the next 4 years.

The expectation is that this person becomes part of the firm's long term leadership team.

What makes this particularly interesting is that the firm isn't standing still.

They're investing in technology.

They're embracing AI rather than pretending it doesn't exist.

They're constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency and client service.

If you've got ideas, they want to hear them.

If you've got ambition, they'll support it.

If you want to help build something rather than simply maintain it, you'll fit right in.

The firm itself is small enough that your voice matters, but established enough that you're inheriting decades of client relationships and goodwill.

You'll spend time working closely with the retiring Partner, who wants to help transition clients and knowledge over the coming years, creating a genuine succession plan rather than throwing someone in at the deep end.

There's also an exciting growth story.

The firm has a close relationship with a larger New York based practice with over 100 employees and significant offshore support. Both firms are exploring future growth opportunities together, giving the incoming hire exposure to something much bigger than a traditional small local CPA practice.

What you'll bring

• CPA or EA preferred, or working towards this.
• Strong technical tax experience across complex 1040s, 1120S, 1065s, 1120s and 1041s.
• Experience with Real Estate clients, developers, trusts and estates.
• A understanding of passive losses, NOLs and tax strategy.
• The confidence to build trusted client relationships.
• The patience to mentor staff.
• The ambition to eventually sit at the Partner table.

Compensation

Flexible depending on your experience, plus what could be a genuinely life changing long term opportunity for the right person.

Because this isn't really a Senior Tax Accountant position. It's a future Partner position that happens to start there.
