Attorney – Insurance Defense
South Carolina Charleston
Compensation: $115,000–$175,000 (DOE)
A well-regarded and growing litigation firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to support its expanding practice across South Carolina. This hybrid opportunity offers a manageable 1,800-hour billable requirement and the chance to handle high-quality general liability matters within a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defend a range of general liability matters, including premises liability, auto accidents, and slip-and-fall cases
- Manage cases from inception through resolution, including trial, where applicable
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Conduct depositions and attend court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations throughout South Carolina
- Work closely with partners and clients to develop and execute effective litigation strategies
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice in South Carolina (or ability to waive in)
- 1 year of insurance defense litigation experience
- Strong research, writing, and case management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
