A highly respected regional litigation firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join its Charlotte office. This opportunity offers exposure to sophisticated litigation matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, with strong mentorship, direct client engagement, and significant responsibility from day one
The firm's practice includes a broad range of insurance defense matters, including construction defect litigation, insurance coverage disputes, medical malpractice defense, professional liability, and general liability claims. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience while working alongside experienced practitioners on complex matters.
Responsibilities:
- Manage litigation matters from intake through resolution, mediation, arbitration, or trial
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, coverage analyses, and legal memoranda
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Attend court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings throughout North Carolina
- Handle matters involving construction defect claims, insurance coverage disputes, medical malpractice defense, professional liability, and general liability litigation
- Advise insurers, healthcare providers, businesses, and other clients on liability exposure, policy interpretation, and risk management issues
- Partner with clients and senior attorneys to develop effective litigation and case resolution strategies
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to the North Carolina Bar
- 2 years of insurance defense, insurance coverage, medical malpractice, construction defect, or general liability litigation experience
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and case management skills
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and client communications is preferred
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and a busy caseload
