About Us
Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc. is an engineering consulting firm delivering geotechnical, environmental, construction inspection, and site-civil engineering services. We're looking for a sharp, detail-driven Accountant / Bookkeeper to own our full accounting cycle across multiple entities and keep our finances clean, compliant, and decision-ready.
What You'll Own
- Full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online across 2–4 US entities
- Monthly close: bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations, accruals, AR/AP aging, WIP, and revenue cut-off
- Financial statements — monthly, quarterly, and consolidated — with variance commentary for management
- Federal and multi-state tax compliance: 1120 / 1120-S / 1065 support, sales & use, payroll tax, franchise and annual reports, 1099s, and estimated payments
- State and IRS notice response through to resolution
- Coordination with external CPAs, auditors, banks, lenders, and factoring partners
- Payroll reconciliation, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and lender/bank reporting packages
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; internships or public accounting exposure a plus
- CA / CPA / CA Inter / CPA candidate a strong plus; recent graduates eager to build hands-on experience are welcome
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online (multi-entity setup, class/location tracking) a plus; willingness to learn quickly is essential
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and federal/multi-state tax rules; exposure to cross-border US–India structures is a plus
- Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, reconciliation models); Google Sheets fluency
- Clear written and verbal communication with CPAs, lenders, and vendors
- Self-starter who works to deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
