The PVC Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring equipment associated with the PVC Extrusion Line to support safe, efficient, and consistent production. This role requires a strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Successful candidates must be able to follow established procedures, communicate effectively with team members, assist with cross-training fellow employees, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Responsibilities
- Set up, monitor, and operate PVC Extrusion Line equipment, including tips, dies, guides, screen packs, vacuum systems, spools, take-up reels, additive hoppers, EPIC controls, water tanks, and inkjet systems.
- Adjust controls to regulate wire speed and extrusion dies to ensure uniform sheath thickness and meet production specifications.
- Operate wrapping equipment to apply paper or tape around wire prior to sheathing.
- Maintain equipment and perform basic wire repairs and splicing as needed.
- Report any production deviations or quality issues to the Manager or Quality Team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education or training is a plus.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate material handling and packaging equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Schedule
- Sunday - Thursday, 11:00PM - 7:30AM
