Location: Tampa, Florida
Job Type: Part Time (8:00am - 12:15pm)
Assistant Teacher

Working in partnership with family members as well as our parish and community, we provided a nurturing, safe, Catholic environment where children are inspired to learn, play, and grow.
We are a NAEYC-accredited, play-based program and a Positive Behavior Support (PWPBS) school. The 2-Year-Old Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment where children learn through purposeful play and hands-on experiences. The Assistant Teacher helps incorporate academic concepts in meaningful ways while using PWPBS strategies and positive guidance techniques to support social-emotional growth and encourage positive behavior.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma, 40 hours Childcare Training through the Department of Children and Families (DCF) required. Working towards a degree in Early Childhood preferred.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Safety and care of children
- Helping the lead teacher implement academic curriculum using Creative Curriculum, the Standards and Benchmarks for Florida, NAEYC, and Positive Behavior Support
- Learn and implement PBS (Positive Behavior Support) strategies within the classroom.
- Interaction with children and their families
- General support to the lead teacher
- Provide care for diapering needs
- Clean room at the end of the day
- Prior experience working with a group of children in an educational or catholic setting
- Must be positive, creative, caring, and energetic
- Ability to work with the lead teacher during a variety of daily activities to engage children
