What are the responsibilities and job description for the Queen of Angels, Fort Wayne - Middle School Math Teacher position at DIOCESE OF FORT WAYNE - SOUTH BEND?
The middle school math teacher will report directly to the School Principal. The position has the ability to be full time with the addition of responsibilities of teaching either middle school science or K-8 computer science.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Math Teacher based on our Core Values and Root Beliefs:

CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF LOVE (CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION)

The teacher will form relationships with the students that are built on respect and love for one another as Christ demonstrated his love for others.

The teacher will provide math instruction for grades sixth through eighth.

The teacher will offer pre-Algebra, Algebra, or Geometry for those students who are performing at that ability level.

The teacher will be open to the opportunity to either teach Middle School Science or K-8 Computer Science, in order to fulfill the full time contract requirements.

The teacher will teach all lessons following the Diocesan Pacing Guide and Frameworks for Middle School Mathematics.

The teacher will utilize a planbook system that details the subject matter that will be taught in the classroom.

The teacher will open each class with a prayer and attend Mass with the school four days a week.

The teacher must be willing to attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

The teacher must be willing to serve on committees as needed.

The teacher will possess or be willing to pursue an Indiana teaching license in Secondary Mathematics.

The teacher must dress in appropriate professional teaching attire.

The teacher must have some computer literacy and be proficient in Google applications, specifically Google Classroom.

The teacher must be able to clearly and respectfully communicate with all adults and students in the school building in a Christ-centered manner.

The teacher must be able to collaborate with both the general education classroom teacher as well the “Specials” teachers in order to integrate cross-curricular lessons.

The teacher must communicate with parents in regards to diocesan-wide or school events that involve the students traveling to a location or being on a study trip.

The teacher must be able to assign tasks to paraprofessionals stationed in his/her classroom.

In order to help promote excellence, the teacher must be willing to be up-to-date on all mathematical processes and standards to ensure that the students' achieving continual growth.

If this position is full time, the candidate will be eligible for benefits from the Diocese of Ft. Wayne - South Bend. The salary for this position will be determined by the Diocesan Teacher Pay Scale.
