Tribunal Transcriptionist-Non-Exempt
Full-Time Position (Monday through Friday 8:30 AM-4:30PM, Hour Lunch)
Reports To: Judicial Vicar

Job Summary
The tribunal transcriptionist is responsible for listening to the petitioner, respondent, or witness testimony and then transcribing the testimony into a word document.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain extreme confidentiality of all work in the Tribunal
- Primary job is to type all testimonies and publications of petitioners, respondents, and witnesses
- When received, all testimonies are recorded in the transcription book
- All other duties as assigned
Specific Job Skills/Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on listening skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Microsoft Word
- Ability to accurately type and transcribe testimony word for word
- Ability to work well with others to promote a positive work environment
- Must have knowledge of the Catholic Faith and be a practicing/participating Catholic in good standing with the church
Education/Preferred Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of secretarial or transcribing experience preferred
Physical Demands
- Regularly spend long hours typing on computer, and using other office equipment occasionally
- Regularly use hands and fingers to lift files, open filing cabinets, and for data entry purposes
- The ability to listen to and understand information through spoken words and sentences
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
