St. Joseph Hessen Cassel is seeking a dedicated, welcoming, and organized Part-Time Office Secretary to serve as the primary point of contact for our school community. The ideal candidate will support the daily administrative operations of the school, assist students, parents, and staff, and foster a warm, faith-filled environment that reflects our Catholic mission.
Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Reception: Greet parents, visitors, and students warmly; answer incoming phone calls, address inquiries, and direct calls or messages to appropriate staff.

Student Records & Attendance: Manage daily student attendance, maintain accurate student records, track tardies/early dismissals, and process student enrollment and transfer files.

School Communications: Draft and distribute routine school correspondence, announcements, weekly newsletters, and notices to parents and staff.

Administrative Support: Assist the Principal and teaching staff with administrative tasks, scheduling, filing, mail distribution, and maintaining school office supplies.

Visitor & Safety Protocol: Enforce visitor sign-in procedures and security protocols to help maintain a safe campus environment.

Basic First Aid Support: Assist with minor student medical needs ( administering basic first aid, contacting parents for ill students) according to school policies.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior administrative or clerical experience in a school or office setting preferred.

Faith Alignment: Understanding of and commitment to supporting the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church in an educational setting.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, compassionate customer service approach.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with Google Workspace, and school administrative software/databases (or ability to learn quickly).

Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy school environment.

Compliance: Must complete a criminal background check and fulfill all diocesan Safe Environment / Safe Conduct training requirements.
