Location: Springfield, VT
Duration: 13 Weeks Contract
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Schedule: 3x12s | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg/Telemetry position at a critical access hospital. This is an adaptive acuity unit where nurses may be required to provide PCU-level care, making flexibility and strong clinical skills essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in Med Surg/Telemetry setting
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes
- Administer medications, including IV drips
- Manage patients with varying acuity, including PCU-level care (3:1 ratio when required)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other inpatient units within scope of practice as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience
- PCU experience – Strongly Required
- IV Drip experience – Required (Insulin, Esmolol, Sodium drips)
- Minimum 3 months of prior travel experience – Required (Non-negotiable)
- Active Vermont RN License or Compact License
- BLS & ACLS Certification (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Charge Nurse experience
- ICU experience
- Experience in small or critical access hospitals
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to float to all inpatient units
- Must have own vehicle
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend holidays as needed
- Maximum 5 days RTO allowed (must be declared at submission)
- Strong communication and responsiveness required
Pay: $60.00 - $66.00 per hour
