Position Summary
Eminence Dickson Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN Treatment & Wound Care Nurse to join our clinical team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of wound care, skin integrity, and treatment services to ensure optimal healing and prevention of complications.
The ideal candidate has strong clinical assessment skills, experience with wound management, and a passion for improving resident outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive skin assessments and wound evaluations on admission and routinely thereafter
- Develop, implement, and update individualized wound care plans
- Provide and oversee wound treatments, including dressings, debridement (as applicable), and infection prevention
- Monitor and document wound progress, including measurements, staging, and healing status
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members regarding treatment plans
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations related to wound care
- Educate nursing staff on proper wound care techniques and skin integrity prevention
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives related to wound care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Monitor and manage supplies related to treatments and wound care
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- Experience in wound care and treatment nursing required
- Wound Care Certification (WCC, WOCN, or equivalent) preferred but not required
- Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of pressure ulcer staging and prevention
- Experience with advanced wound care treatments and protocols
- Ability to educate and mentor staff
- Familiarity with EMR systems
