Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Instructor to join our team. As a GNA Instructor, you will be responsible for instructing students according to a curriculum designed to assist them in passing the Maryland GNA licensing exam. You will also assist students in registering for the exam and provide clinical training experiences in a clinical facility.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development and evaluation of the training program
- Implement the approved training program
- Supervise classroom laboratory experiences
- Evaluate student performance in the classroom
- Provide supervision and clinical evaluation of each trainee at the clinical training site
- Work with the Director of Nursing to create a positive learning environment
- RN licensed in Maryland
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of experience caring for the elderly or chronically ill in the past 5 years
- Completed a course with a minimum of 16 hours of instruction in the principles of adult education (such as Train the Trainer); or have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Skilled in teaching adult learners
- Willingness to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
