Day hours - 7 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

1.       Assists with loading/unloading trailers, securing loads, and organizing products under guidance of Shipping 2 or 3.

1. Learns and applies safe product handling methods, proper stacking techniques, and tie-down procedures.
2. Operates powered industrial equipment (forklifts, tractors, skid loaders, etc.) under supervision, following certification.
3. Performs shrink-wrapping, banding, palletizing, and labeling of products as required.
4. Assists with yard and warehouse organization, product counts, and placement.
5. Gains exposure to shipping paperwork processes (BOLs, packing slips, labels) but does not complete independently.
6. Maintains clean and safe work areas, following PPE requirements.
7. Works as part of the shipping team to support daily schedules and assignments.
8. Complies with company policies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1–2 years of shipping or receiving experience preferred.

Knowledge of DHI product helpful.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certified forklift operator.

Level 2 certified.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist and move about the facility.  Employee regularly uses hands to grip, finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms.  Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds, and have ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.  Occasionally lifts product in excess of 50 lbs either individually or through team lift.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus and to distinguish colors.  Ability to climb in/out of and drive powered industrial trucks, vehicles and trailers.  The employee is occasionally required to operate a computer, use the telephone, kneel, squat and lay.  Frequent exposure to elements such as odors, oil, fumes, noise, extreme & changing weather conditions.

Employee must wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses with side shields, goggles/face shields, hearing protection in designated areas, Kevlar gloves, and/or other equipment as task dictate.  For specific equipment, see the Hazard Assessment for the work area and type of operation being performed.
