Delta Health is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Float Medical Assistant / Clinic Office Clerk to support both clinical and front office operations. This role requires flexibility, professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is comfortable assisting in clinical duties while also managing administrative and clerical responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Medical Assistant
Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, medication lists, and patient concerns
Administer injections and medications; perform blood draws and wound care
Communicate test results and medication changes to patients
Accurately document clinical information in the EMR
Anticipate patient needs and maintain compliance with HIPAA and facility policies
Clinic Office Clerk
Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and verify insurance
Collect payments and assist with front office operations
Scan, upload, retrieve, and manage medical records in EHR systems (Athena Health, QHN)
Release medical records per HIPAA guidelines
Maintain office supplies and assist department staff as needed
Uphold fiduciary responsibility and act in the organization’s best interest
Medical Assistant:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Current Certification as a Medical Assistant required upon hire or obtained within 18 months from date of hire.
- Previous experience in the same or similar position preferred.
- BLS Certification Required
Office Clerk:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to read, write and follow instructions.
- Excellent typing, computer skills, and data entry knowledge required.
- Ease of proficiency with various software products.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Multi-tasking a must.
- Previous experience in a Medical Clinic Office setting preferred.
- Works effectively with patients, physicians, physician office personnel, and department personnel.
- Must be able to work efficiently with frequent interruptions.
- Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
