GENERAL SUMMARY: Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Planner-Estimator in Norfolk, VA.
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all aspects of the task assigned from job scoping to completion.
- Works with ship to determine boundaries of the task.
- Reviews drawings for material, tracks material
- Tracks progress of the task using Microsoft project.
- Develops and updates Technical Work Instruction (TWI).
- Stops work and seeks guidance when TWI instructions are unclear, drawings or work step instructions conflict with existing conditions, non-destructive and system tests fail to meet acceptance criteria.
- Research and develops response to Condition Reports (CRs) as needed to document issues in configuration, workability of the TWI, and growth in scope
- Provides feedback to Program Manager, Government Reps, OSIC’s.
- Graduate of high school, trade, or industrial school.
- Minimum of six years of experience in developing work packages and TWIs for ship maintenance
- 3 years of experience in the supervision of technical support for Alteration/SC installation, maintenance and repair of HM&E ship systems.
- May be required to travel for work to other locations.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must possess advanced computer skills to enter data into different databases.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate with OSIC and government officials.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions and manuals.
- Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets (MDS).
- Able to follow safety procedures.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required on a regular basis to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and/or hear.
- Frequently the employee is required to carry objects that might weigh up to 50 pounds.
