Key Responsibilities
- Monitors system components such as IBM mainframe, Harris Radio towers, Network Nodes, CSN, CAWA, and the Teams email inbox for updates and system status.
- Coordinates testing, upgrades, and deployment of new software products, ensuring compatibility and operational integrity.
- Recommends functional and technical improvements to optimize the environment.
- Participates in performance and volume analysis, contributing to performance enhancement initiatives.
- Provides desktop support remotely, troubleshooting hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for technology support and service requests.
- Manages the retirement and disposal of obsolete or broken computer equipment.
- Coordinates procurement, installation, and configuration of new hardware and software.
- Implements virus protection software and manages software patches and upgrades.
- Develops and updates training and documentation materials reflecting technical and functional changes.
- Ensures reliable backups and data integrity.
- Investigates user-reported problems, identifies root causes, and implements effective solutions.
- Assists in troubleshooting network issues, systems, and applications to resolve operational difficulties.
- Develops and conducts user training sessions to improve system utilization.
- Evaluates hardware and software needs, recommending purchases to enhance operational efficiency.
- Communicates status updates proactively and manages service outage notifications.
- 1-3 years of desktop support experience.
- Experience with ticketing systems.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proven documentation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience with virus protection software, software patches, and upgrades.
- Ability to develop troubleshooting plans and user training programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with on-site presence as required.
- Experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting and connectivity.
- Familiarity with IT asset management and hardware procurement processes.
- Strong communication skills for user training and support documentation.
