We are seeking a QA Engineer for a contract role focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications within a data-driven environment. This position involves executing complex testing procedures, analyzing results, and collaborating with IT teams to resolve issues, all within a domain that includes cloud computing, data modeling, and API development.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs and executes advanced test cases and scripts based on detailed testing plans and documentation.
- Documents issues and defects in issue logs, retesting software corrections to confirm resolution.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive testing documentation, including plans, conditions, and scripts.
- Creates and manages test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly evaluate system logic and flow.
- Coordinates and schedules user acceptance testing, alpha, and beta testing phases.
- Analyzes complex quality assurance issues and collaborates with internal IT staff to determine effective resolutions.
- Recommends and implements improvements to quality assurance strategies to enhance testing effectiveness.
- Utilizes SQL, DBT, AWS Glue, Snowflake, and API development tools to validate data and system integrations.
- Applies QA methodologies, procedures, and documentation standards within a structured SDLC environment.
- Oversees functional testing services for software and business process development projects, including cloud-based applications and ETL workflows.
- 3-5 years of experience in QA testing, system design, and analysis.
- Proficiency in advanced SQL, DBT, AWS Glue, Snowflake, and API development.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience developing QA plans and test cases.
- Knowledge of QA methodologies, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Experience with Quality Center software processes and Quick Test Pro (QTP) automation.
- Ability to utilize query tools such as Toad and SQL.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- On-site work environment in Houston, TX.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience with web applications, cloud computing, CRM systems, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with general business operations such as HR and Finance.
- Knowledge of additional technologies like Peoplesoft, AS400, Visual Basic, Informatica, GIS, GPS, and ESP.
- Project management skills and strong communication abilities.
