Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional customer service and the efficient, timely and accurate distribution of material to the College’s campuses to support the College’s operations.
This is accomplished by: conducting business in a professional manner; delivery of material to the various campus departments; scan and track materials delivered; providing distribution services for the College’s mail; conducting routine maintenance of equipment; and maintaining warehouse facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Other duties include additional assignments as needed and assigned.
One (1) year of related experience.
Valid Texas Driver License with ability to be insurable by Del Mar College.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance.
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
Ability to move, lift and carry materials, equipment and furniture (weighing up to 100 pounds), load and unload cargo, climb ladders, service vehicles and perform warehouse maintenance.
Mechanical aptitude and use of hand tools required for assembly of furniture and equipment.
Ability to display tact and courtesy, establish and maintain effective working relationships with various individuals, adapt to changing work priorities, meet deadlines and schedules, set priorities, work in an environment with frequent interruptions and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge to perform basic math, read & follow instructions, understand multi-step written & oral instructions.
Skills to operate equipment used in warehouse functions and motor vehicles.
Ability to read and interpret documents, maintain custody and control of packages, parcels, mail and materials during transit and delivery to intended recipient, correctly process associated delivery tickets and other documents.

Represents the College in a professional manner and assists the various faculty and staff with their interactions with the Purchasing department in a courteous manner.
Job Duty
Processes and handles materials by loading material into vehicles.
Scan and track materials delivered.
Delivering material to the appropriate location and moving furniture and equipment as scheduled by the warehouse supervisor.
Reading work orders and following oral instructions to ascertain material to be moved and operating delivery trucks, forklift, and hand trucks.
Picks up and delivers mail at the local post office, delivers and picks up mail from designated locations on the various college campuses and delivers bulk mail to the main post office as needed.
Job Duty
Conducts routine maintenance of equipment by monitoring such items as, air pressure in tires, fluid levels, etc. on a weekly basis.
Washing and waxing of vehicles.
Processing All Other Normal Operating Maintenance Functions.
Maintains vehicle maintenance logs by keeping a log of all service orders completed on departmental vehicles.
Job Duty
Maintains a safe, organized and clean work area in the warehouse and at delivery locations.
Job Duty
May assist Warehouse Supervisor by performing shipping and receiving duties as needed.
