Lead Maintenance Manager | Dairy Farm

Our client, a progressive and growing agricultural operation, is seeking a Lead Farm Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, machinery, and facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring all equipment and infrastructure are operating efficiently to support daily farm operations.   As the Lead Farm Maintenance Technician, you will take ownership of preventive maintenance programs, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and prioritize maintenance activities. You will also lead and support a Maintenance Assistant while working cross-functionally with farm operations to keep everything running smoothly. RESPONSIBILITIES: \tOversee and perform daily maintenance and repairs on farm equipment, machinery, and facilities \tExecute and manage preventive maintenance programs (PMs), including oil changes, lubrication, and inspections \tDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues \tPerform welding and fabrication for repairs and equipment modifications \tPrioritize maintenance requests and determine repair vs. replacement decisions \tSupervise and assign daily tasks to the Maintenance Assistant, ensuring quality and efficiency \tOperate farm equipment as needed to support operations \tManage parts inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships \tMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentation \tRepair and maintain farm structures including fencing, gates, water systems, and barn components \tCollaborate with operations teams on maintenance needs and special projects \tRespond to emergency equipment breakdowns and participate in on-call rotation \tMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment DESIRED PROFILE: \tHigh School Diploma or GED required; trade school certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience \t3–5 years of experience in preventive maintenance and repair of farm or heavy equipment \t2 years of mechanical, welding, and fabrication experience \tStrong ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems \tProven ability to work independently while leading and supporting a small team \tStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills \tBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office) for record keeping and communication \tValid driver’s license required; additional technical certifications (ASE, Diesel, Electrical, etc.) are a plus \tAbility to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and working in outdoor environments year-round   Interested in this Opportunity?
