Our client is a growing multi-site dairy operation seeking a hands-on leader to bridge herd management, feed execution, and operational coordination. This is a new role created due to expansion and growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee herd health routines and support existing herdsman
• Manage feed execution and bunk management
• Monitor feeding accuracy collaborate with nutrition/crop teams
• Coordinate across herd, shop/maintenance, and forage teams
• Ensure issues are followed through to completion (not just delegated)
• Lead and support a predominantly Hispanic labor force
• Work directly with ownership to drive performance and efficiency
Ideal Background
• Experience in dairy herd management
• Exposure to feed/bunk management (or strong willingness to learn)
• Operational, problem-solving, and leadership mindset
• Strong communication accountability skills
• “All hands in” attitude vs. siloed thinking
Nutrition knowledge is a plus but not required.
Schedule & Location
• On-site role, 5–6 days/week (rotation)
• Increased involvement during planting/harvest seasons
