What are the responsibilities and job description for the SE - TRiO Student Support Services - Peer Mentor/Front Desk position at Daytona State College?
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
- Must currently be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), or a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
- Transient and Dual Enrollment students are in eligible for student employment.

- Federal Work Study (FWS)
- Up to 20 hours.
- Monday through Friday. (Flexible)
- Availability between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Flexible)

Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Coordinators to help participants understand program expectations
- Promote academic achievement and inform participants of collegewide resources
- Responsible for connecting with participant mentees face-to-face at departmental events and monthly meetings
- Assist with recruitment efforts and distribute personalized invites to all SSS sponsored events
- Manage TRiO front desk and route students, staff, and community inquiries to appropriate TRiO or collegewide staff, as well as assisting with scheduling of appointments
- Monitor daily tutoring activities and maintain record of attendance, cancellations, and no shows
- Assist with set-up and break-down of TRiO events, including monthly meetings
- Demonstrate awareness of and adherence to college policies and guidelines
- Perform other duties relevant to the job as needed and assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong customer service skills and excellent telephone etiquette
- Strong computer skills such as email, Word, Excel, etc. and able to self-motivate
- Must demonstrate maturity, dependability, and possess excellent communication skills
