- High School Diploma or GED
- Vocational Certificate with an emphasis in Welding or closely related field.
- 3 months of experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists Instructor in Welding labs to oversee students in operation of lab equipment in compliance with all safety procedures, as well as, College rules and guidelines.
- Prepares/sets up lab for classes; includes cutting material, setting up shop equipment, and maintaining cutting tool inventory.
- Maintains equipment maintenance records for area of responsibility; cleans and checks lab equipment periodically to ensure optimal functioning.
- Follow and carry out assignments given by the department Assistant Chair.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President of their designee.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must be able to relate and work with faculty and students individually and in groups.
- Exercises good judgment and communicates effectively both orally and written.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in multi-task environments and maintain positive customer relations.
- Ability to supervise students in a lab environment; and have welding knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures as well as maintain, repair and handle tools and tool supplies.
- Ability to do sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, and routine keyboard operations.
