Dartmouth Partners is working with a leading institutional equipment finance platform to identify an experienced equipment valuation professional to help build and scale an in house valuation function. This is a highly visible role with real influence over strategy, process design, and execution. The firm manages a large, diversified equipment finance portfolio and is in the process of transitioning valuations from a third party provider to an internal platform. This hire will play a central role in that evolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive valuation analysis across a broad range of equipment types, including construction, industrial, medical, and technology assets
- Develop and maintain valuation methodologies, benchmarks, and assumptions throughout the asset lifecycle
- Oversee and review third party appraisals, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with internal standards
- Build and enhance internal valuation processes, documentation, and governance frameworks
- Support origination, underwriting, portfolio management, and end of lease decision making
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of direct, hands on experience valuing equipment within an equipment finance, leasing, or asset backed lending platform
- Demonstrated experience setting fair market value and residual value assumptions across multiple equipment types, including industrial, construction, medical, or technology assets
- Experience building, owning, or meaningfully contributing to an internal valuation, asset management, or collateral oversight function
- Prior experience managing or overseeing third party appraisal firms and reviewing appraisal outputs
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and execution level, with comfort designing processes while remaining actively involved in analysis
