Benefits Specialist- Investment Management - Boston, MA
We are currently seeking candidates for a Benefits Specialist position to join a leading investment management firm based in Boston, MA. This role will play an integral part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the benefits team, including benefits administration, auditing, and improving administrative processes. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of employee benefits experience within mid-size to large organizations and a strong understanding of health and welfare plan administration.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity offering $55–$60/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour workweek. The position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring 3 days per week onsite in the Boston office.
Administer the daily operations of health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental plans.
Perform regular system audits (daily, weekly, monthly, and project-based) to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Process and track benefits-related claims and invoices, including life insurance claims and premium billing.
Support system testing and audits by identifying configuration issues and recommending updates or process improvements.
Contribute to ongoing benefits initiatives and assist with special projects as needed.
Coordinate and support health promotion and wellness programs.
Prepare and maintain documentation and data for plan audits, compliance reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Generate and analyze reports on benefits utilization, costs, and key metrics to support informed decision-making.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience administering employee benefits, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, and leave of absence management, within mid- to large-sized organizations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
Demonstrated success in enhancing benefits operations through process improvements and automation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Workday is strongly preferred.
