The Role – VP, Field Operations (Data Centre / Mission Critical)
The VP of Field Operations will lead all field execution across mission-critical/data centre projects, ensuring safe, consistent, and high-quality delivery at scale. This role oversees staffing, safety, SOP compliance, operational performance, and field leadership development, while working closely with regional and corporate teams to drive best-in-class project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Oversee multiple data centre projects to ensure alignment with schedule, quality standards, and SOP compliance
- Provide strategic direction on construction methodologies, sequencing, logistics, and workforce planning specific to hyperscale environments
- Lead project mobilization and demobilization in line with mission-critical standards
- Act as a senior resource for resolving complex field and operational challenges
- Drive consistency and excellence across all sites through standardised execution
Preconstruction & Project Planning
- Support preconstruction efforts including logistics planning, staging, sequencing, and constructability reviews
- Contribute to proposals and business development with a focus on mission-critical delivery strategies
- Ensure operational readiness, including staffing, safety planning, and execution approach
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, developers, and design teams within the data centre sector
- Participate in key project and client meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment
- Drive client satisfaction and repeat business through consistent delivery and engagement
- Develop relationships with key external stakeholders (trade partners, unions, authorities, industry bodies)
People Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing field teams (Superintendents, Field Engineers, etc.)
- Align talent with project complexity, particularly within mission-critical environments
- Lead hiring, workforce planning, and succession development across projects
- Oversee performance management and career progression initiatives
- Partner with training teams to ensure continuous development and required certifications
Safety, Quality & Risk Management
- Champion a strong safety culture across all data centre projects
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor risk, productivity, and workforce engagement across sites
- Implement controls to maintain consistent quality and operational standards
Process, SOPs & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of Field Operations SOPs
- Establish controls and initiatives to ensure consistent execution across all projects
- Drive continuous improvement in field operations, efficiency, and delivery
Financial & Business Operations
- Plan, manage, and forecast departmental budgets, including staffing and resource allocation
- Support regional business development and growth strategies within the mission-critical sector
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between field operations and internal departments
Salary : $200,000 - $300,000
