The Role of Senior Project Manager – Data Center Construction
You’ll take full ownership of major data center builds, ensuring seamless coordination across all phases of delivery. From managing budgets and schedules to leading teams and engaging with clients, you’ll play a central role in driving successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Project Manager – Data Center Construction
- Lead the delivery of large-scale data center construction projects from preconstruction to handover
- Manage project financials, including forecasting, cost control, and cash flow
- Oversee change management processes, ensuring timely resolution and commercial protection
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, focusing on critical path activities
- Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, and specialist subcontractors in mission-critical environments
- Drive procurement strategies and subcontractor performance
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Identify and mitigate project risks, particularly within high-spec, fast-track builds
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, promoting accountability and high performance
Essential Experience for Senior Project Manager – Data Center Construction
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale data center / mission-critical construction projects (this is essential)
- Proven track record in a Senior Project Manager (or equivalent) role within construction
- Strong commercial and contractual expertise
- Ability to manage complex, fast-paced projects with multiple stakeholders
- Confident leadership style with excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Degree-qualified in construction, engineering, or a related discipline (preferred)
