Job Description
As a Senior Technical Engineer, you will serve as a key technical expert responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and optimizing application and infrastructure performance across a large, distributed enterprise environment. Your work will directly support system availability, user experience, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead performance triage efforts and troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems
- Support, maintain, and optimize the organization’s enterprise APM platform
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to identify and resolve performance challenges
- Participate in incident response related to performance issues in production environments
- Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and best practices for performance monitoring and triage
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in performance engineering or a similar technical role
- Strong hands-on experience with APM tools (Dynatrace preferred; AppDynamics, Datadog, or New Relic also applicable)
- Proven experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments
- Deep understanding of application performance triage and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud environments
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated success working across multiple teams and organizational units
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and operational practices
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Neoload)
- Background in mainframe performance monitoring and optimization
- Exposure to network performance monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, ThousandEyes)
- Understanding of chaos engineering concepts and tools (e.g., Gremlin, Chaos Monkey)
