Job Description
The Technical Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on technical support, installation, and problem resolution across workplace technology, networking, servers, audio/visual systems, voice, and related infrastructure. This individual will lead complex initiatives, support end users, and collaborate closely with engineering partners and internal stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Lead, plan, coordinate, and deliver technical support for the installation and implementation of computers, servers, network equipment, audio/visual systems, telephony/VOIP, and related peripherals in accordance with enterprise standards.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and problem resolution for hardware, software, network, voice, audio/visual, and facility-related technology issues.
- Apply, document, and improve procedures for installations and incident resolution.
- Serve as a technical lead on complex projects and initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with customers, management, engineers, and peers.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and adherence to corporate technology standards.
- Coach and mentor team members while coordinating support and project-based work.
- Provide guidance to internal customers on equipment standards and technology expenditures.
- Accurately assess customer needs and deliver solutions with a strong sense of urgency.
- Follow organizational policies related to asset management, travel expenses, and overtime.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required
- 3 years of customer-facing end-user technology support experience.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and delivering technical support for the installation and implementation of computers, servers, network equipment, audio/visual systems, telephony/VOIP, and related peripherals
- Active, valid driver’s license (for commuting purposes).
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Hartford, CT.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
- Working knowledge of macOS and iOS environments.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of desktop and laptop configurations, operating systems, servers, networking concepts, telephony/VOIP, audio/visual systems, and collaboration technologies.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a team-based enterprise IT environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and ability to positively represent IT with internal customers.
