This individual will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, improving processes, and supporting leadership with actional insights. This position blends hands-on accounting with forward-looking financial planning and budgeting, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and leaders across the business.
Most Important Responsibilities
- Accounting Operations: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timelines. Oversee general ledger activities and maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards. Establish and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes. Analyze performance trends and provide insights to support business decisions. Develop and track key financial and operational metrics.
- Compliance, Audit & Reporting: Support lender reporting requirements and ensure adherence to financing agreements. Partner with external auditors and advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Business Planning & Forecasting: Drive company-wide budgeting cycles and periodic reforecasting. Partner with department leaders to align financial plans with business objectives. Deliver regular reporting and variance analysis to leadership.
- Leadership and Cross-Functional Partnerships: Lead and develop a finance and accounting team. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve financial performance. Act as a key financial advisor to leadership on operational and strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA or advanced degree preferred).
- 8 years of progressive experience across accounting and finance, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reporting requirements, and audit processes.
- Experience managing both accounting operations and financial planning activities.
- Ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial tools.
- Exposure to lender reporting or financing-related requirements.
- Experience supporting external audits and working with third-party advisors is preferred.
- Background in environments requiring both operational accounting and strategic finance.
