Job Description:
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Inventory & Materials Manager to lead end-to-end material planning and inventory strategy across multiple sites. This role is critical to ensuring high service levels, efficient inventory management, and a resilient global supply chain.
You’ll partner closely with Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Executive Leadership to align demand planning, optimize materials flow, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
What You’ll Do
Inventory Strategy & Optimization
- Develop and execute inventory strategies to maintain high service levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence
- Manage supplier lead times, safety stock levels, and inventory positioning across locations
- Implement best practices such as ABC analysis, FIFO, Kanban, and Vendor Managed Inventory
- Utilize ERP systems to track, analyze, and optimize inventory performance
Demand Planning & SIOP
- Translate sales forecasts, new product launches, and promotions into actionable inventory plans
- Lead Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) processes and cross-functional alignment
- Prioritize fulfillment strategies based on customer needs, margins, and strategic accounts
- Communicate supply risks, delays, and constraints proactively to key stakeholders
Supplier & Risk Management
- Partner with suppliers to improve lead times, flexibility, and reliability
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies to reduce supply chain risk
- Monitor supplier performance and implement contingency plans when needed
- Work with compliance teams to streamline customs and mitigate tariffs
Materials Flow & Process Improvement
- Improve materials flow using Lean principles and Plan for Every Part (PFEP) methodologies
- Optimize warehouse layouts, storage strategies, and handling processes
- Support automation initiatives such as RFID and advanced storage systems
- Drive Just-in-Time delivery where applicable
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee cycle counts, audits, and inventory accuracy initiatives
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Drive sustainability efforts including waste reduction and packaging improvements
- Develop and track KPIs such as inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and service levels
What You Bring
Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in inventory, materials, or supply chain management
- 5 years in automotive, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing environments
- Experience managing complex, high-SKU environments and global supply chains
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Experience with demand planning and forecasting tools (Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, etc.)
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Deep understanding of inventory optimization, safety stock, and forecasting models
- Familiarity with BOM management and component lifecycle challenges
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field
- APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred
- MBA or advanced degree is a plus
Preferably someone who has worked in Renewable Energy industry, Solar Panels or with Metals.
Salary range: 105k -135k
