What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Special Education English, Language Arts, Reading Curriculum Coach position at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
- Texas certification in Elementary or Secondary Education;
- Texas certification in an area of special education preferred;
- A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher;
- Successful experience with at-risk students, flexible regrouping and ELAR instruction;
- Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating, coaching and teaching other teachers;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of state testing program including accommodations.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days
SALARY:
$67,640/IA-3
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide direct coaching, staff development, modeling, and campus consultation in the implementation of effective researched based instructional strategies and interventions of the English Language Arts and Reading TEKS.
- Work with special education and general education teachers, curriculum coaches, coordinators, and administrators to facilitate the implementation of interventions.
- Consult with campus staff to interpret the TEKS, analyze reading/writing assessment results, and to plan effective instruction to meet individual IEPs.
- Collaborate with special education curriculum coordinators and other coaches to analyze assessment results and plan effective interventions for instructional targets.
- Assist in the selection and implementation of reading/language arts materials.
- Attend and contribute to campus team planning sessions.
- Assist in the development of accommodations and modifications of assessments that are appropriate in depth and complexity of content as well as aligned with TEKS.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the assistant superintendent for educational support services, the director and assistant director of special education services, and the special education curriculum coordinators.
