Temporary Paralegal – Real Estate (4-Month Contract)
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our team on a 4-month temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional looking to contribute to a fast-paced real estate practice.
About the Role
You will support our General Counsel in managing a variety of commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing. You'll play a key role in keeping deals on track, coordinating with clients, lenders, title companies, and other parties throughout the transaction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review real estate transaction documents including contracts, deeds, title commitments, and closing packages
- Coordinate and manage closings, including scheduling and preparation of closing statements (HUD-1/ALTA)
- Conduct title searches and review title reports for issues or encumbrances
- Communicate with clients, brokers, lenders, and municipalities to gather required documentation
- Perform due diligence, including zoning, lien, and UCC searches
- Maintain and organize transaction files and deadlines
- Draft correspondence and legal documents under attorney supervision
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience in real estate law required
- Paralegal certificate or Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial real estate transactions
- Familiarity with title insurance, escrow procedures, and closing processes
- Proficiency in legal document management software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
